Let's find the left x-intercept first. We will use a left bound of -7, right bound of -4 and a guess of -5. When the calculator asks each question, the graph is put into trace mode. Just type in the value of x you want, and a prompt will appear as you do. Make sure the x-values you enter when answering these questions are valid for the current window (between Xmin and Xmax). The coordinates of the zero are then displayed. The left x-intercept is (-5, 0). |
