ARITHMETIC Absolute Value (Page 1 of 3)

To find the absolute value of a number or an expression, the abs command is used. Just be sure to include the number or expression within parentheses. The abs command will automatically provide the left parenthesis.

Let's evaluate |3| - |-7|. We will need to use the abs command twice.
