We can also enter the sequence as a function using the function editor, and then evaluate the function on the Home screen or using the TABLE.

Let's define the previous sequence as function Y1, then find the fifth term from the Home screen. Use x as the variable in place of n when defining the function. To find the fifth term, evaluate the function for x = 5 using function notation with the Y1 symbol.
