Enter the equation. Now specify a guess for x. To find the left x-intercept first you want a guess that is close to it, say x = -1. Type in the guess but do NOT press ENTER! Leave the cursor on this line and press ALPHA SOLVE.

 ENTER key.

 Negation key. 1 ALPHA SOLVE key.

Now evaluate either Y1 or Y2 at this value of x to obtain the corresponding y-coordinate. We will use Y1.

 2nd QUIT key. CLEAR key.
