ARITHMETIC | Order Of Operations TI-83/84 Plus (Page 1 of 3) |
The TI-83/84 Plus is designed to obey the standard order of operations when evaluating mathematical expressions. **Click here for the TI-83 order of operations. Operations are performed in this order (left to right at each level):
A complete list of the order of operations is provided in the Guidebook (see EOS). The real key to avoiding errors when evaluating expressions is a liberal and careful use of parentheses. Parentheses allow you to control which operation is performed first, and to enter an expression so that the TI-83/84 Plus will correctly interpret it. As a general rule of thumb, use parentheses whenever you are in doubt about the order of operations. |
