COMPLEX NUMBERS | Polar Form Conversions (Page 9 of 11) |
To convert a complex number from polar to rectangular form, there are two different methods. The first involves more conversion commands found in the ANGLE menu. To use these commands, we must enter the complex number as an ordered pair. That is, rcisθ would be entered as (r, θ). We must find the real part and the imaginary part separately. Let's convert the complex number 3cis150° to rectangular form. Use the PtoRx command to obtain the real part first. Since we are currently in Radian mode, we must either change to Degree mode first, or else specify the angle as degrees using the degree symbol. We will show the second option. |
