To evaluate the inverse cosecant, secant and cotangent functions, we make use of the reciprocal identities. For instance, we would find arccsc(3.8637) this way: Let θ = arccsc(3.8637). Then cscθ = 3.8637. But cscθ is the reciprocal of sinθ. So = 3.8637, which means sinθ = , and so θ = arcsin(1/3.8637). The corresponding angle has a measure of approximately 15°. Notice that we had to use the inverse of the reciprocal function (the sine) with the reciprocal of the argument.
