To begin with, try a standard trigonometric viewing window using the ZOOM ZTrig command. This is a nice comprehensive graph in that it shows the significant features of the sine function and at least one complete period. The standard trigonometric window sets the left edge of the window to -2π and the right edge to 2π, with a scale on the x-axis of π/2 units. The lower and upper edge of the window are set to -4 and 4, respectively, with a scale on the y-axis of one unit. Observe that the period is 2π, there are zeros at integer multiples of π, and the range is [-1, 1]. We will use this same window to graph the other five trigonometric functions. |
