To perform arithmetic with complex numbers, use the i symbol located over the period key. It is a good idea to use parentheses in all cases. Let's evaluate (2+3i) + (1-5i) and (2+3i) - (1-5i).
The ENTRY command will paste a copy of the previous command onto the Home screen. Because the command is only copied and not executed, we can edit the command using the arrow keys and editing features of the calculator before pressing ENTER. This can be a time saving technique if you want to repeat a command with slight changes, such as the above example where we changed the addition to a subtraction. |
