POLAR COORDINATES Conversions (Page 1 of 6)

To convert an ordered pair from rectangular coordinates (x, y) to polar coordinates (r, θ), we use a set of commands from the ANGLE menu.

Suppose we have the ordered pair (5, -3). To find the directed distance r, we use the RtoPr command. Enter the command first, followed by the ordered pair.

 2nd QUIT key. CLEAR key.

 2nd ANGLE key. 5: menu selection. 5 Comma key. Negation key. 3 Right parenthesis key. ENTER key.
