The first step is to enter the expression for the function in the function editor. To do this, the dependent variable r must be isolated. We access the function editor by pressing the Y= key. key as usual.

Let's graph the function r = 0.5θ. We will enter this expression using the TI-83/84 function name r1. The r1 symbol represents the variable r. Use the X,T,theta,n key. key to enter the variable θ. In polar mode, this key will give us θ instead of x.
