Now we must turn off function Y2 and turn on function Y3 to graph the tangent function. This can be done quickly on the function editor screen. Move the cursor over the equal sign for Y2 and press ENTER. This will de-highlight the equal sign, meaning Y2 is now off. Then move down to Y3 and press ENTER to highlight the equal sign for Y3. Function Y3 is now turned on and will be graphed. Press GRAPH. The graph of the tangent function is now displayed. Observe that the period is π, there are zeros at integer multiples of π, and the range is all real numbers (there is no defined amplitude). |
