One method of solving a trigonometric equation graphically is to set the equation equal to zero, then define the left side of the equation as a function. The solutions to the equation will be the zeros (x-intercepts) of the function. Since these values will represent the measure of angles, the results will depend upon the current mode. Let's solve 2cosx = -1 using this method and have the results given in radians. First make sure the calculator is in Radian and function (Func) mode. |
