Then set the equation equal to zero: 2cosx + 1 = 0. Enter the expression on the left as a function Y1, and graph the function using a standard trigonometric window. Observe that this function is periodic, and has two zeros for every cycle. If we find the zeros for any one cycle, then the other zeros can all be determined by adding multiples of the period, 2π. |
